How Much Damage Do Blue Flies Do in Binding of Isaac Rebirth

The Blue Womb is an optional area in the game that can be found by defeating Mom's Heart/It Lives! in under 30 minutes. An area will open up similar to the Boss Rush room, and you can head inside to get to the area.

The Blue Womb is unlocked after defeating Mom's Heart for the tenth time. The actual area is more like a single floor where you setup to fight boss that you will have to fight, calledthe Hush.

Once you're down there, you'll find four golden chests that aren't guaranteed to drop any items, two locked Treasure rooms that have the option of two items you can choose from, and a Shop that contains six items. Once you're ready to fight, head as far north as you can in the room with the four chests and the door to the boss will open up.

The Hush

The Hush is a very special boss because it, along with the other final boss introduced in the DLC, Ultra Greed, have something called damage scaling, which means that all damage dealt to the Hush will be capped so even if you had a very strong run beforehand, you will not be dealing a huge amount of damage to the Hush. This makes it so that the fight will be very difficult if you don't have a strong run already, as he will seem to have a very high health pool.

The fight starts off with him acting as if you were fighting ???,he'll start the fight crying on the ground, stand up after being damaged for a while, and then start flying after that. Once that form is defeated, he'll turn into the form pictured above which has a very high health pool, damage scaling, and very bullet hell-esque attacks, which all will be listed below. He will also periodically spawn blue flies, blue Gapers, and blue Boils that you'll have to deal with as well. He will also sink into the ground periodically, sometimes moving in this state, to be invulnerable to the player's attacks.

  • Can fire bullets in various patterns with different colorations that the player will have to avoid.
  • Spawns blue flies that will fly in the player's direction while rotating. As a note, they are invincible when they first spawn.
  • He'll sink into the ground and move, spawning blue Boils that fire shots in the players direction.
  • He'll spawn a large number of blue Gapers out of his mouth, which will have very little health but might overcome you with the size of the group.
  • Fires a barage of wavy shots that pass through the walls and end up coming out the other side and are faster the longer they travel. These shots will never hit you when you are in front of the Hush where he is shooting the bullets from, they usually hit when they pass from the other side. They shoot out in a set pattern, though, so you can just stay in one safe spot and be fine.
  • Fires two laser beams from his eyes that follow the player very closely, but will never really be faster than you so you should be able to dodge them as long as you keep moving.
  • Shoots out three red tears that split into smaller tears several times.
  • Sinks into the ground and fires shots in various patterns while being invulnerable to the player's attacks.

The first time you defeat the Hush, a golden chest will spawn in the middle of the room that you will use to end the run and gain Ending 17. If you've defeated him before, then a ray of light and a trapdoor will spawn that lead to the Cathedral and Sheol, respectively, if you have unlocked them.

The boss itself isn't super difficult to fight early on, even if you don't have the most amazing damage output. Many of his shots are easy to dodge given how slow they are, and even the wavy shots aren't too difficult to dodge. When he does the wavy shots, simply stand in a single place where you aren't getting hit and fire at him. If you can, you can even stand on the left or right side of the area (depending on where you are) when he does this while firing in your direction, as the shots will go over your head and the shots that come from the other side of the room will not be able to hit you. In the later half of the fight, just be sure to try and take out the enemies that spawn before focusing on the Hush.

Some items that are very useful against the Hush are the Stop Watch, as they will make him, his tears, and all his spawns very slow. Gnawed Leaf combined with items such as Daddy Longlegs and Ludovico Technique can also be used as a way (albiet very slow) to kill the boss.
